New Skype Worm Targetting Skype Users
Pls take note of a new skype worm targetting skype users. The worm is known as Worm.Skipi.A (F-Secure), W32.Pykspa.D (Symantec) and W32/Pykse.Worm.D (Trend Micro).
We had also received reports of the infection from our local users. The threat assessment by Anti-virus vendors for this worm is low level.
Pls note that Skype users only become infected after they have clicked the malicious links recieved via skype and execute the malicious software. The chat message, of which there are several versions, is cleverly written and may appear to be a legitimate chat message coming from your skype friend, which may fool some users into clicking on the link.
