If want to know the procedure of Radio Amateur Examination (RAE) and now you are ready to transmit to the amateur band (144 MHz - 148 MHz ; 430 MHz - 440 Mhz ; 28.0 MHz - 29.7 Mhz with maximum of 50 watts).
Before you begin, there are several procedures that you will need to follow, several forms that you will need to sign up in order to proceed.
Identification of Citizenship;
A copy of radio Amateur certificate;
Two written character references;
A declaration of secrecy;
Application form for Apparatus Assignments (AA)

Identification of Citizenship here means, your MyKAD, your passport or any identification papers that proves who you are.
The copy of Amateur Certificate, is the one when you will get a few days from now in your mailbox. This will be the official letter from MCMC stating that you have passed the examination. Words out there that says you can use the results publish in the MCMC website, and highlight your index number.
The written character references refers to a letter to the chairman of MCMC, stating that the applicant is a good character and a good person, and he has demonstrated the skills to operate an amateur radio station. This letter is then sign by either a Class A holder, or members of MARTS. This is sort of a chicken and egg situation. You are required to show that you are capable of operating a HAM radio station to obtain a license; yet if you do not have a license, you are forbidden to operate. Will let you ponder upon that.
A declaration of Secrecey is required. It is a form of letter that is signed by the Commisioner of Oath. It will cost you around RM2 to RM4 for this procedure. You can even go to a lawfirm to get this done, which will cost a little more.
To date, I have not find a proper source to obtain the proper Apparatus Assignment (AA) form. From MCMC’s website, or from the overated www.gov.my. I am using makeshift forms for the process, and by right it should be accepted.
The callsign selection form will include 3 of your prefered callsign. Your contact number is required in case your callsign are taken by someone else.
The whole process will take about another month, depending on how fast can you get the process running. I will continue to write about my process, and hopefully one day it will be someone’s reference.
